WNYBuckHunter
You have every right to be whatever you want. The question is why would you want to be a dead giveaway for anyone who doesn't agree with what you believe in?? Why not make them think a while before they figure you out? Just as you would have unkindly thoughts and assumptions of anyone with an Obama/Biden bumper sticker on their cars, why let the other side do the same to you by giving yourself away to them? To each their own, of course. I myself enjoy being elusive. Can make one a better hunter, too! The answer to that would be because I just dont give a rat's behind what people that would pigeon hole me (based upon what I wear) think of me. fasteddie
A couple shirts I have are : " I didn't Climb to the Top Of the Food Chain To be a Vegetarian" ( archer in a treestand on the back ) " Help Preserve Wildlife - Use Freezer Bags" I wear what I want because i'm not paranoid or ashamed of the fact that I hunt . I may wear a camo shirt but I don't walk around in full camo .
Bleitten04
Eddie I was told at my bow safety course that those shirts shouldn't be worn in public because they look bad or whatever. I know that there are worse ones than that though. Like redneck deer drive and it shows three guys driving a truck after deer LOL. I disagree with that because like every other person we like to have fun to. Just because we wear shirts like that doesn't mean that were killing machines or bad people. Other people were shirts that say much worse things than a redneck way of hunting or fishing. It just doesn't make sense to me I guess why people care what you wear (hunter or non hunter). I'm not attacking anyone or accusing you of being wrong. You have your own opinion and are entitled to it 100% but I'm proud to be a hunter and will be as long as God allows me to. If I want to wear a camo shirt I'm wearing it. I agree being dressed from head to toe in camo can send a bad message sometimes. But if you need to make a quick stop before or after a hunting trip o well what are you gonna do. I'm not changing just because someone might look at me differently. ELMER J. FUDD
Yes I'm reviving this thread. My go to weekend outfit is camo shorts (not realtree/mossy oak, the military style) and a black t-shirt that usually says something about jiu-jitsu or fighting. It's my way of politely telling people with staring problems that I'll rip their f^%$##%$ head off without even thinking about it. I also like to wear camo when I drive my porsche too. I'm just messin' with you guys. No porsche, but why conform to the norm. I feel like a poser if I wear UFC shirts, I haven't trained in 4 months. I have hunting shirts with funny sayings that are for pajamas and yardwork only. It's just not my thing, but camo says "I get s&%# done!" lol! I think breaking the stereotype is what we need to do as hunters.

mxsmitz201
when i see people in gander or dicks decked out in their hunting garb and make it obvious they just got down from the stand or are on their way to the stand i think to myself.... welp, looks like the deer are safe with them in the woods, and go back to my shopping. but about hunters out shopping.... i bought a hang on stand from dicks the other day, field and stream was the manufacturer cant remember the model name but it was $99, had a very comfortable thick padded seat and back rest along with arm rests and the edge guard on the front of the base. very happy with it, its comfortable, light and was easy to install. only bad thing i can say about it is the arm rests are attached by two hand turned bolts (plastic knobs on the bolt head) that are like 8mm bolts..... first thing i thought when i saw that was boy that looks weak. then when i got it in the tree not even thinking about it i went and sat down got comfortable like i normally would in the stand and nearly bent the bolts in half. no big deal though i welded them solid since the stand wont be coming out of the tree. Nomad
I go out of my way to wear some camo to certin things, like when my kids played HS sports ,events like a party for my wifes work ect. We MUST let the world know hunters are their neighbors and co-workers,normal folks just like they are, otherwise many only know what they hear on the news and think we all shoot each other, tresspass, poach and the like . I still remember when my kids would go to daycare at the "Y", and I wore an ornage camo hat one season when I dropped them off 3 ladies that worked there all asked about my hunting, and told about how their Dad loved hunting and so forth. Be proud of being a hunter, don't hide your camo or a hunting shirt like its kiddie porn or how a drunk may hide his booze, be proud and set a good example spread the word about hunting don't hide . I even hang a deer in my front yard GASP ! Kids have got of the bus come up and soon they learned a little something, like yes we eat it..... Sorry just read the DATE of this thread ! GreeneHunter
Nothing like being able to get back to work after hunting season and proudly exclaiming " Yup , I blew Bambi's Brains out again this year" LOL
