Deer was shot in the head.

What caused all the trauma in the hind quarters if it was head shot?

Nuisance tags?

Hey Culver, my guess is it was hung by its head? I'm not really sure. I didn't do the butchering this time. We actually let out a whole lot of blood prior to quartering. More so than previous deer.

Yes, nuisance tags.

Thanks for the tips Culver

I don't care too much for the hind legs really, just whatever is easier to quarter. We find it easier to hand by the head for some reason.

I actually think the ribs and neck is pretty damn tasty. Could be because there's never any blood left there!

You don't like the hind legs but you like the neck and ribs? Have you ever heard of the tenderloins and backstraps? Yea not much blood on the rips because there is no meat on the ribs of a white tail

I enjoy the tenderloins as well as the backs traps, but not as much as the ribs and neck.

Want to trade some loins for ribs? Oh wait, you shoot them in the ribs right?

I thought you were going to say it must be a city thing, lol.

I also like LMB, a fish most people prefer not to eat.

With that said, I think its a matter of how its cooked. I've had some EXCELLENT venison medallions on the grill before, but I wasn't the chef.
