Terry
I do a lot of bowhunting on the ground and want a camo that blends in exceptionally well in a variety of terrains. I am not impressed with any of the big names like Realtree or Mossy Oak. Any suggestions? I have been eying ASAT and Predator.
Lawdwaz
Go with any decent camo but cover your hands AND face (especially) and you'll be perfect. Practice shooting with the face camo-ed up as it could be a big change for you.
phade
ASAT and Predator as you noted. I really like Predator Fall Gray and Brown Deception.
Five Seasons
ghillie suit. only downfall on the ground is that is can snag on a lot of stuff. I have a nice 2 piece from cabelas with a scentblocker liner that i remove during turkey. Haven't been busted once.

It's from cabelas. It's light and very quiet, I pair it with a ghillie style mask. It looks and works great in NY. In the pic, I'm in the Arizona desert, but you get the idea. Doewhacker
ASAT offers a 3D suit now, I want that or just plain ASAT/Predator for my next set.
mbucks27
If you will be hunting the ground i would go with ASAT 100%. I have the 3d suit and it works awesome and you can wear whatever you want underneath. John
WNY_Whitetailer
That ASAT does look good...Maybe I'll pick some up when it's time to replace my camo.. It could be a while though... Sent from my ADR8995 using Tapatalk
Terry
Thanks guys. I ordered the ASAT 3D suit.
WNYBuckHunter
ASAT and Predator as you noted. I really like Predator Fall Gray and Brown Deception. Yep. Predator is great stuff. Fall grey might get you some goofy looks from other hunters, but deer seem to look right through you.
mbucks27
I agree on the predator fall grey it is great camo if you are in the tree. But i think since he said he is going to be hunting the ground that ASAT is def the better option. John
phade
I am not a super critical person relating to camo, because I have not found any major camo to be THAT detrimental to being busted. Having said that, last year, there were two seperate times in two states where I had encounters that I should have been busted given the backdrop, wind, etc. and the deer looked right through me in my fall grey suit. One in a tree and the other on the ground. I know its empirical/anecdotal, but I was very impressed to say the least. Edit...my avatar is a pic from that stand and that hunt where I had the tree stand encounter. Edited July 23, 2013 by phade

I have a jacket and overalls in it, and use them ground hunting very effectively. Dont be sold on colors, deer dont see the same way you do. mbucks27
Still think the ASAT 3d suit would be better on the ground. Just my opinion John
WNYBuckHunter
Everyones entitled to their opinion, and I think ASAT is a good choice as well. I am just pointing out that you should not rule patterns out based on how they look to you. It doesnt matter what the hunter sees, only what the deer sees. Someone posted a picture of themselves in Predator fall grey on the ground from a distance one time. They filtered the photo to mimic what a deer would see, it was amazing how he stood out when looking at him with our range of vision, but once it was filtered, he disappeared. Doewhacker
I will most likely decide based on what has the better price, doesn't seem you can go wrong with either.
