Gander said slingshots are illegal. meanwhile while on my way into harbor freight tools a man walks out with a machete costing 4.99!

don't know why......only the ones that attach to your wrist are........my guess is because at some point in time, some jackass used it to injure someone.

on second thought, you can scratch that theory......I'm sure more people have been killed or injured with ordinary butcher knives, paintball guns and the like.........don't really know why they were added to the list of banned weapons in NY.

Only the wrist rocket type slingshots are illegal. But under a new King Cuomo law, standard sling shots are also illegal if: they are loaded with a stone, marble or other projectile that exceeds 1/8 " in diameter or: said projectile is not made of an "environmentally friendly material or: the user of the slingshot is found to be in possession of more than 7 projectiles or: the slingshot is painted black or: if the slingshot is not fired using a limp wrist.
