Woodjr55
I have this tree right in front of my stand yesterday I had some deer walk right I front of I couldn't get a shot. Now should I cot the whole thing down or just try for the top. I don't have a pole saw down at camp thou
Cabin Fever
That's your call. Depending on what and how much is blocking your view, you could start with just trimming off a few limbs, to make a hole to shoot through. That way, you still have some cover. If that's not enough, and you can get away with it, lop off the top. Or, if you have enough cover, cut the whole thing down. (Then again, I have been called "Clear-Cut" before!! )
Lawdwaz
I wouldn't sweat it for now. If you own the land, saw the mofo down. If not, get a pole saw and trim it up nicely and you should be fine.
genesee_mohican
It looks thin enough to bend out the way too? Sometimes I'll just bend a tree over a bit as long as it won't interfere with another shooting lane.
WNYBuckHunter
I used to be a clear cut kind of guy, now I trim holes through things like that. I want as much cover as I can get.

thphm
Cut it down,if there has been any loging going on near by it won't bother them, might bring them in, I have had them come and start munching on them right after I drooped a tree. fasteddie
Get out the pole saw and trim it . The trees in the background don't look very bushy so I am guessing the this tree might be unique in the area and gives some cover . Trim some shooting lanes but leave the rest of the tree alone . What makes you think that the next time the deer won't walk between you and that tree ?

growalot
Depends on how far away they were when walking behind it...remember...a older deer will pick you off from a distance...and you never know it...so if that view through the top is a trail that leads down to you...just trim a hole...if your stand is well concealed (blind) from your movements ...bend and trim/hinge...only you can really judge
