Come on a plain clothes DEC officer? Really? Nonetheless he is a total scum bag. Go buy your own guns.

I have seen it while fishing oatka creek on opening day, doing liscence check's.find it hard that DEC wouldnt atleast be carrying during hunting checks.never been checked out while hunting so can't comment on that but definitely a scumbag!

Yeah kinda wild that the hunters handed over the gun and let the dude walk away without giving more information as to his badge number or a ticket/receipt saying that the gun was taken and when to appear in court.

He must know many hunters are scared of Dec officers , but yes I agree . Im asking to see his tin AND photo ID  , as anyone can order a badge online .

I do admire his ingenuity and spunk , that took balls .

A good 10 years  back over at Stewart State  Forest during the later part of the Fall Turkey Season ,I am walking out and across a field and a Bow Deer Hunter is yelling-- Hey and starting to run at me from a good 70 yards off.

I kept moving and he kept running and yelling-- Hey.

I thought somehow,I screwed up his hunt .Finally he gets to me out of Breath  and yells out- DEC. His hands are all over my Shoulders  and Backtag. I had to dig for my wallet and show that,I had a Turkey permit played for

He never showed credentials  and,I should have insisted  on that- but,I believed the Guy.

Today-- forget it. Officers undercover  need to have their credentials  out before laying hands on you.

Too many people are getting ripped off in Daylight  and Knocked Out from behind.

 Glad,I read this Thread.

That was the Red Flag right there. Never hand over your Firearm to a Stranger. I need to take pictures of all your credentials .
