Nope, I'll be missing out on this Thanksgiving day hunt. That slime that dropped out of the sky the other night and covered up my driveway has to be plowed out this morning. There's only about 4" of that stuff, but it has the consistency of pudding. It has to be removed so the gang of friends and relatives can drive up my driveway and hope to have any chance of getting back out.....lol.

That's ok, we have enough venison in the freezer for the two of us.

Traditional hunt day for my son and I... and the start of a big Adirondack hunting weekend... today we hunt until Thanksgiving dinner that my wife slaves to make for the family... then a local hunt tomorrow and off to hunting camp tomorrow night... great weekend with my longtime hunting friends made special because now all our sons are there to hunt with us as well... hopefully when us old-timers are gone they will carry on the tradition passed on by our fathers.. Happy Thanksgiving fellas!

I have killed some deer on turkey day..Killed my first T-Day buck on Thanksgiving morning, 1968...

Since I have retired, I don't need to hunt every day anymore...

Considering the weather report, I think I will float a few icecubes in some amber colored liquid and sit back on the couch...

Perhaps the weather will be better on Saturday...Or Sunday.....

....sipping that beverage in front of a fireplace would be perfect..

Just got home a foot of snow in the driveway and much more at thew road.  Trees all down the driveway hanging low with snow.  had to get out shake them all off.  Almost got stuck in a maybe 18-20 inch drift in the driveway.  Got to camp it was a balmy 10 degrees but no wind.  Water jugs inside frozen soda frozen deviled eggs in the fridge frozen.  Lit a big old fire and went out to my stand. I had a buddy with me.  About 25 yards in front of my stand 3 beds with a dusting of snow from early morning in them.  Sat for over an hour and walked through the woods to my buddy.  He saw 3 deer I moved 2 big does and a younger spring fawn.  Got out came home and enjoying the fire.  I will go tomorrow with the 4 wheeler and plow and make it passible.  My cousin plans to go over Saturday with his yes no joke prius.  He will be lucky to get up the highway much less the driveway.  This weekend and next for regular season here.  Warmer next week, so it may melt down some.
