getting blue gills

took the grandson fishing for blue gills  he did good picked up 5 nice size blue gills by him self I helped take them off the hook

Bluegills are a great way to introduce kids to fishing..

Ready biters and LOTS of action, which is what the youngsters need.

Sure, bluegills are great for the kids, but some of us old kids like to fish for them too ..... lol. Put them critters on the end of a flyrod, and you're having instant fun too. I still drag out the old bamboo pole and head for the lakeshore once in awhile too. Guess there's a little "kid" in all of us.

I'm in my 60s and love all kinds of fishing, but the older I get the more I enjoy catching panfish. Bluegills and pumpkinseeds in May and June, and yellow perch the rest of the summer.

Bluegills are the best eats...just need a dozen a head.
