Hack,dig,pry, used it last week to dig and cut roots below grade,wash off, few swipes on a stone ready for more. I have knives with the latest super steels, but 1095 is still used for a reason. They also make some really nice folders. They have one that's named the XM-1 Extreme. A military folder that is a supper unit. Many China clones, but miles apart from the original Ontario's.
