Vince1 Posted August 22, 2014 Share Posted August 22, 2014 wondering what this is. found em when I was out scouting. trying to figure out if its worth setting up where I found em. funny thing was I couldn't exactly pick out what tree they were falling from. plan on going back with my binos and trying to figure it out. but they were riiiight near my cam. vincy Posted August 22, 2014 Share Posted August 22, 2014 (edited) hey vince1, not a fruit. its called a Gall. in your case a red oak gall, pictured below. its a type of insect parasite, casued by wasps. it causes little to no harm to the tree however.
