Anyone here ever had a melanoma mole removed

Kinda pissed , had what I thought was a weird looking mole ,Derm Dr measured it and we have been watching it like 5 yrs

Last week he removed it , yup , stage 1a melanoma … wtf

You shouldn't be pissed.  Upset, yes but also glad.  You and your Dr. were aware of it and monitoring it.  You caught it very early.  This is how good medicine is supposed to work.  Too many people die unnecessarily from melanoma.

A good buddy of mine had a substantial one removed from his back also requiring lymph nodes in his arm pits needing removal. That was well over ten yrs ago and he's been fine ever since. Although not a good idea he still drinks like a fish and spends a lot of time in the sun.

My wife just had a rather small pre-cancerous mole removed from her leg. They took a ton of skin - at least 2” above and an inch on each side - in a diamond shape. Think dress pattern. This allowed them to close it up as best as possible  though you can still see an indent. 

Her brother died of cancer that started on his skin and spread inside.

I had something cut out of my leg 2 years ago, couldn't believe the size of the cut, I didn't feel a thing. I go to the dermatologist twice a years, alway get spots burned of with liquid nitrogen. Fun stuff

Staying out of the sun will severely lessen the risk of melanoma. My wife has been in the product end of skincare her entire career and the number one product she recommends is sunscreen.
