airedale
I came across this live around the clock Deer feeding station in Maine a couple of years ago, when the snow gets on the ground up there the Deer hit those feeders hard day and night. Right now they are coming out pretty much at night on bare ground and not a whole lot of action during the daylight. Happened to check it out last night before hitting the sack around 1100 pm and there were some real nice wall hangers visiting those feeders. Daveboone
Back in the day, a lot of sportsmans clubs up in the ADKs used to maintain hay /feed lots for the winter deer, and some of the pics I saw were amazing...of course, I am sure just like in Maine, they yard up for the winter which congregates them in an area. landtracdeerhunter
Use to watch " The Crush" feeder out in the Midwest years ago. This one is a much larger feeding station. Deer are far more social here. Very relaxing in front of a lit Christmas tree.

landtracdeerhunter
Quite a few blue jays at the feeder this morning. The camera lens looks like a deer licked it.

They use an ATV setup to automatically fill the Trough's !
airedale
There is also some kind of pellet feed mixed in, that is the first thing they go for after he fills the troughs, they are hitting the feed earlier and earlier. There were a couple of 200 pounders there last night. Usually there is a big bunch of Turkeys there, I could hear some yelping the other day but have not seen any at the feeders yet. landtracdeerhunter
Oats have to be crimped for an animals digestion system to benefit. I read this in the comments that their using them. The owners sometimes remark in the comments section. Must be quite a financial responsibility to under take. Nice that their state allows it.
