Steve D
Won't be much longer before they are gone. They have been on their annual feeding frenzy for the last two weeks. Probably another two weeks and they will gone for another year. Edited August 28 by Steve D
airedale
They seemed to get a slow start in my neck of the woods this year, in the spring I did not see many at all. There are a few around now and I was watching a little guy yesterday going over a hanging flower basket on my front porch. Al
Doc
I saw one of those little guys just yesterday hovering in front of a window, looking in. We do not feed them, but we have a lot of flowers around the house that seems to attract them.

Shoots100
We set out different colored sugar water to see which one they prefer and it seems blue was the color of choice this year. SJC

SJC We only us clear water and have good results. I think the most important thing is to get the feeders out early(weather permitting). I think we had ours out towards the end of the first week in May this year and we have had birds all summer long. Once they find them they will keep coming back as long as the feeders are maintained. My wife starts watching the migration map about mid April waiting for them to come back. https://www.hummingbirdcentral.com/hummingbird-migration-spring-2023-map-animation-video.htm She has way to much time on her hands.
