Try the tonawanda wmu or Carlton hill wmu. I've hunted Carlton hill and there are a ton of deer there but its a little scary come gun season. Watch for the idiots

Just somewhere in zone 9 i was thinking about carlton hill but i heard it was packed....its my first year hunting so idk to much of where to go. I was also thinking about canadaway creek in arkwright, is that a nice place?

9S Allegany St Park , 65000 acres , 58000 acres huntable , bring a compass or GPS , its a big park .

Eden , NY is the dividing line for the heavy snow. There are some special rules for hunting the park. No Sunday hunting , no hand gun hunting , no rifles , shot guns must be plugged to only hold 3 shells. ( 2 in mag, 1 in chamber), free park hunting permit , obtained at the park police office. . I always use my muzzleloader. , shoots like a rifle . But then my 10 pt was at 3 yds and my doe at 25 yds.

My advice is to search the net. But public land hunters are pretty protective. If we gave out our secret spots then they wouldn't be secret spots anymore.

 

Spend some time turkey hunting or after the season scouting. Little late now.
