phade
Hipster is a fad, not a fad word. I welcome people who want to hunt to provide food locally, organically, etc. I don't see it as a bad thing. It does tend to go against the grain of the hipster being one who doesn't get their fingernails dirty. Usually the skinny jeans prevent them from bending over far enough to reach dirt. Pygmy
Why would anybody want to hunt Hipsters ? Are they good to eat ? Who would want to pay good money to a taxidermist to mount a flannel shirt ? PBR...You mean people actually DRINK that stuff ? I think it's time for my NAP...
Mr VJP
Hipsters are obviously lousy hunters. They hunt for food, but are totally emaciated on the verge of starvation. They need mentors before they all die off.

Curmudgeon
I too am uncertain what a hipster is but I like the author's follow up comment "Cheers to new hunters, whoever they may be, and whatever they may be drinking." .
growalot
Members 5388 posts LocationLivingston Co. Posted Yesterday, 11:24 AM Hipster is a fad, not a fad word. The specific nature of the behavior associated with a fad can be of any type including language usage, apparel, financial investment and even food. Apart from general novelty, fads may be driven by mass media programming, emotional excitement, peer pressure, or the desire of "being hip".[2]Fads may also be set by popular celebrities. Though the term trend may be used interchangeably with fad, a fad is generally considered a quick and short behavior whereas a trend is considered to be a behavior that evolves into a relatively permanent change.[3] In the late 1950s, the word beatnik was a major fad after it was coined as a portmanteau between "beat" and "Sputnik". The word faded away, though, as the beatniks abandoned the underlying attitudes that were supposed to go along with their lifestyle. Although this fad was short-lived, it is credited with giving birth to the Hippie movement in the following decade and with inspiring other social trends in the decades that followed.[4]
Pygmy
Beatnik..Remember Maynard G. Krebs from "The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis"...? An old joke from the 1960s.. How do you tell a MONKEY from a Hippie ? Give him a banana. If he eats it he's a monkey. If he SMOKES it, he's a hippie.
dbHunterNY
it's very true and I welcome them.... I mean it's inevitable that there's a growing population of women involved in the hunting world.....seriously though despite the hipster concept to me is ridiculous, I would and have welcomed them to hunting.
