fasteddie
Walked my sister in laws property yesterday to see how wet the woods might be as it doesn't drain well . Saw a double treestand laying on the ground across the ditch from my SILs property . Some new guys are hunting there this coming year . It looks like it might have been removed and a note left with it .

growalot
new guys hunting her place and set up wrong? or new guys on place across from hers? Lets hope the note left makes it clear it wasn't you that took the stand down. So they don't assume and not play nice....
fasteddie
It wasn't my stand and it was on another person's property . I know it has been there for at least 3 years when I first saw it . A couple of new guys are hunting that area and wanted to hunt my SILs property also . She said NO . We had a thread about taking down someone's stand and leaving a note so I wonder if that is what these guys did . Because of the plastic bag on the support bar , I didn't think it had fallen and thought a note had been left . If that's the case , it appears that they did the right thing . Five Seasons
I probably would have took the stand home and left a note on the tree for them to come get it. just leaving it there seems kind of like garbage/litter.
WNYBuckHunter
We leave a note on the stand, if the person doesnt answer their phone when they are called and asked to take their stands down, and it stays there for a while. If they dont take it down, then we take the stand and put it in the barn. If they dont show up, it gets added to our collection in a new area. Jeremy K
My buddy and I hunt some property that a couple other guys hunt ,we don't know or talk to each other because I'm sure they don't have permission, the land owner just blows it off so it's not my concern. They took my buddies stand and put theirs up 10 feet away and put a ladder stand up directly above my ground blind. Same guys that drag their deer down the road behind the 4 wheeler at 20 mph. I'd find some nice fresh dog dirt and cover their gear if this happened to me. Marine grease also works well in these situations.
