Jaeger
Hey, I'm pulling out my old compound and I have 2 blade mechanical Rage 100gr Broadheads on the arrows. Did you guys say the DEC frowns on them or is it 3 blade rages they have a problem with? I know there are several old threads but wanted to get the latest info, new broadheads are cheaper than a ticket.
moog5050
No issue with the 2 blade rage. I believe, but not certain, 3 blade are considered barbed and not legal in NY.

Jeremy K
Which 3 blade rage are they talking about? I have the 3 blade rage chisel tips and they can fold forward just like the 2 blade .
fasteddie
Which 3 blade rage are they talking about? I have the 3 blade rage chisel tips and they can fold forward just like the 2 blade . Do the 3's fold back when you pull them out of a target or do you have to fold them back manually ?
shawnhu
Which 3 blade rage are they talking about? I have the 3 blade rage chisel tips and they can fold forward just like the 2 blade . They are talking about the old 3 blades that sometimes failed to retract. The new ones are ok. G-Man
As long as they do not form a barb they are legal even if they have 5 blades, it's a good law the keeps a lot of game alive from a poor shot as arrow can pull out vs hang up and cause pain and infection. If you think otherwise walk around with a thorn sticking out of you for a few days...
