Bear hit by truck near Eden , Ny

This is the only picture I have .   A trooper friend confirmed the bear was killed in Eden. It has been warm lately with very little snow. The bear and deer have been moving on a regular schedule. I don't think its too unusual to see bear out at this time of year.

That's what I heard,  entrance or exit ramp. Could have been hit by a car also . I'll try to get more info tomorrow.

Found bear tracks last weekend at my camp. They are moving about….

You're right kpkot...It looked big in the first picture, but that must have been due to the skill of the photographer.

Someone posted in the comments it was 120# bear. I can't speak to the truth of that thats just what someone said. Ive seen does bigger than that. In all the years my neighbor hunted the property(late 70s), he never saw a bear. Two years ago i had a juvenile on my cameras. Cool to see just not extremely common by us. Attica area 9h.

Hunted region 6 for 30 yrs saw my first bear just 2 yrs ago, they are not that common up here in the north either unless your hunting the Adirondacks or fort drum

Did he confirm the exact location of where it was hit....as most know there are reports of this bear being hit from Batavia all the way to Silver Creek.

Without  giving out names , the troopers said that the bear was hit near the Eden exit.

I doubt that very much..........

 

The 120 stated is closer to what it might have weighed, IMO.  My BIL is a retired trooper and I know a number of local PD and a few other troopers.  None of them would guessed any better.......

We have seen signs in Java ,my buddy who owns the property saw one 2 years ago .
