i got the email at 4:39pm.  You're quick!!  Been checking their site and checked just last night and it wasn't posted yet.

Not quick, just lucky. In this kind of weather I only check my email a couple of times each day. It came in just before I did.

20 % of DMP tags go to button bucks says a lot of people need to learn how to tell the difference between a button buck and a small doe...

Agree, I whacked a BB in my early stages of hunting thinking it was a doe. Block head now is pretty easy to determine it's a button buck. And typically they tend to be bachelor deer all by themselves from what I've noticed.

If anyone is ashamed or heartbroken over an accidental BB take in WNY, feel free to shoot me a PM and I will drive out and take it off your hands if I can.  I would often be willing to sign over an unused DMP in exchange (9F or 9H) for the carcass. It would be great if you could save me the liver also.

And most always the first deer to come out into a field or food plot. They are free spirits with not a care in the world.

i make it a point to not shoot button bucks as do others in the area.  kind of frowned upon out this way for one reason or another.  doesn't necessarily help your hunting as they relocate.  it helps the future buck numbers for those around you though.  besides I've processed them before.  practically the same amount of work for a fraction of the meat. PITA if you ask me.
