BowmanMike
I saw quite a few deer this a.m. around 8.30 on my way to work. Seemed like that is a little later than usual. I wonder if the wind last night made them a little uncomfortable and they did not get enough feeding time in. Might be the changing weather pattern too.
growalot
Came back from a visit with grandson and took the road that shows my back line next to the 1/2 mile deep farm fields...3:45 and there were 6 deer in the open clover and alfalfa fields... OldNewbie
I made 400+ deer sightings over the past six months (via trail cam, driving, and from the house). You can see deer in my neighborhood any time of the day, but the majority of sightings are in the first hour after sunup and the last hour before sundown. The 23 buck sightings made over the same period show twin peaks about an hour behind the doe peaks. Cabin Fever
Buck pics have dropped off dramatically for me over the past 7-10 days. Before that, I was getting pics of numerous different bucks. I think the yellowing soybeans have something to do with that.
OldNewbie
Yeah what's up with all the soybeans this year? Used to be all the fields here (southern tier) were corn. This year a lot of them went to soybeans, and they are just yellowing in the field. Are they harvested late or just they do so poorly because of drought they are being left? Not sure if it matters for hunting but I am curious...

DirtTime
I have watched a few milling during midday while scouting in the woods ( mainly does with fawns, 1 fork horn ). Not in fields though. We must always remember, just when you think you have a deer or deer ( plural ) figured out, they will do something different. That's what makes them fun to hunt. The g/f started seeing them on her way home from work in the same spot every night for a week. We checked the area out, it's a public park with no hunting.
Cabin Fever
After thinking about it, I was out yesterday and wanted to do a small job (duct tape down those pins that hold the ladder sections together that rattle when you climb) at a stand. From the trailcam pics, I was getting pics of does and fawns at the surrounding crabapple trees anytime after 4:30pm. As I was sneaking up to the stand at 4:15, I peeked down the trail and saw a huge doe stepping out of the standing cornfield and started munching on crabapples. I just slowly backed out without her seeing me.
