So last night I got stuck in the stand. Had deer coming in pretty sure it was a buck and he froze up 35 yards out. He didn't move for the last 20-25 minutes of light. I waited till dark and then did an aggressive grunt. The deer took off stopped 50 yards out and I blew at them and they trotted off. I got down and did some soft grunts walking out hopefully fooling them. What do you guys do in this situation?

Ive been meaning to ask this question before, im glad it came up. I was told to try blowing at them, so I did, the 1st time it worked perfect the deer cleared. 2nd time, not so much. I blew at the at very last light.. they stood and tried pinning me down( im guessing trying to figure out why a "deer" was blowing" and they never left, but started blowing back at me lol i ended up waiting forever to climb down and still bumped them. I now do not hunt any stand that i think i may bump deer on the way out in evening sits, or going in on morning sits.

I think ill try the coyote barks, seeing how there are a ton of yotes at my place.

Stick it out till the morning until legal light to shoot.

Hanging stands in September I got pinned in the stand when a 4 pt and doe started milling around. I used a app on my phone with coyote barks and howls. Also last year I was stuck at the back of my field in my tree when 4 doe came out feeding in our soybeans, it's behind our house so I had my wife drive her car back into the field. Both worked out good.

If i can I have someone at camp or a neighbor drive out on a quad or a vehicle. Always works. But when they are not around lol

Happened to me last night. Deer came in 5 minutes after sundown, as I was packing to leave. After 20 minutes, I just backed out of the blind, carefully walked up trail.. and spooked a buck that was ABOVE me on the trail back to the house. Then just for good measure, had another blow at me from the little overgrown weed patch in the corner of the yard.
