The_Real_TCIII
Thought I'd start a thread for small game adventures. We had another good morning on bunnies, we ran five and killed four. Found a ton of rubs and an unrecovered six point too Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Pygmy
Very cool, Tacks..Especially the picture of the Browning Double Auto...<< Pygmy trembles with envy>>... My partner has 3 beagles, including two pups, 5 and 6 months old, who are both running open on the track already... I am dying to get out with him as soon as I get this Xmas stuff out of the way...
The_Real_TCIII
I'm picturing you and your domestic partner snuggled up with a couple of beagles watching a movie and it warms my heart!Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Pygmy
Yeah, it warms MY heart too, and I'm sure she'd rather snuggle up to a couple of beagle pups than my raggedy old butt... However, the hounds belong to one of my male HUNTING partners...He's single (widowed) and may very well be snuggled up to all 3 beagles as we speak.. They may be watching " Old Yeller" for all I know...
diplomat019
Excellent thread! I haven't been out nearly as much as I would have liked this year because I had a lot of other stuff going on. But I was fortunate enough to take three pheasants so far and I got my first quail today. I moved to NJ recently and they have two wma opened for quail. We put up 4 birds. 1 was bumped. I missed clean on one that was low flying through some trees. And went 1/2 on a pair that we put up. What a great time. Rabbit hunting is a blast. If i had to choose id say rabbit hunting has to be the most fun and exciting in my opinion. The action is awesome. (The skinned bird is the quail)

hunter49
I would love to get back into hunting rabbits with dogs (it is the best action ever). I did it many years ago hunting with 3-5 beagles at any one time. Nice looking dogs both beagle & shorthair.
diplomat019
Went out again today. Bagged 3 quail. We put up a solo and then a covey of about 12-15. WOW. It was fun to say the least. My dog went on point along a sand road in some bushes. I dont know how many came up but I would say between 7-10. I was able to bag 1. While we were looking for the down bird another 3 came up from the same general area. I got one of them. Then as we were looking for the last bird another 3-4 came up! I couldn't connect. The birds broke into the woods and I was trying to shoot thru some trees. For anyone who hasn't ever quail hunted like myself before this, I highly suggest it. The action was awesome when the covey came up. No pics of the hunt but i have breast meat to show Edited December 31, 2016 by diplomat019
