Seeing a buck of this caliber also shows that Long Island deer have the genetics and the nutrition to grow some amazing animals, if they are allowed to make it to maturity...

That's what we all wake up every morning for. Many will say... I am meat this food that but deep in our loins this is what every hunter hopes to see. Period!                    Places to get some age on them is all it takes. We have all the other factors.

Guess DEC didn't confiscate the deer as was told here in an earlier post. Good for the kid!

We have some real bruisers on trail cameras. This is in public land that is hunted real hard. This is from Oct 1st to Jan 31st. Just last week we picked up some real big deer holding horns late late season.The thing is hunting spots are limited to a certain amount of hunters by the DEC. The woods are thick pines and underbrush that the deer hide in.They bust out under your feet and are gone in a second. very smart deer for sure they learn quick.

giant deer.  good to see big ones coming from NY.  hate it when people write off this state and then say they're going to places like Ohio or somewhere else.  this buck was above the bar but we've got lots more potential still walking in NY woods.
