great read. guy is a disciplined and respectable hunter.  i've tracked and took a mature deer in it's bed.  by far one of my greater hunting accomplishments.



Shooting an Adirondack buck in his bed with my bow was by far my greatest hunting accomplishment of my life. I will likely spend the rest of my life trying to shoot another 3 1/2yr old buck with my longbow in the big woods.

got me beat then.  all mine were with guns, 50 cal ml or a 30-06.  i've stalked to within bow range of a few with a bow but all yearling to 2.5 yr old bucks so all i did was came to full draw at most.  seems i run into some bigger footed and heavy young deer, may be that i'm not the best tracker.  no sense in changing standards once i get there though.  successful track and stalk is just that.

I'll be totally honest the first ADK buck I get within bow range to with the longbow is in trouble, well I hope he is in trouble. Bow hunting the ADKS is how I kill bucks in November. I just cover a ton of ground and hope to stumble on a buck.
