BizCT
11/12: went back to 3S with compound this afternoon. 245pm-dark hoping to catch that 8pt. Saw 0 deer.My cam over the scrape that I️ pissed in again on Friday when I️ left showed Does came to scrape at 8am and then just before 4pm yesterday. Then a buck came at 11pm. It is not the 8pt, but a different buck. Can’t tell if it’s a 7 or5, but looks wide. A shooter for me. Next up Saturday Gun season in 3N.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
BizCT
11/18: Dad and I hunted our property in 3N with shotguns. I hunted dark - 11am and saw 1 doe at 810am. My dad hunted dark - dark (pouring rain last few hours) and saw a doe at 1145am and a 3pt at 1240pm. Still pouring. Regardless of rain, looks like crazy winds tomorrow so I don’t plan on hunting. I’m done till Thursday morning.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
BizCT
11/20: while I was at work, Dad hunted dark - dark and saw 0Deer. He saw 1 yote run by at 745am at 25yds but couldn’t stop or slow it down for a shot.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
BizCT
11/21: while I was at work, Dad hunted dark to dark. BizCT
11/23 in 3N: 0 shots heard. At 8am I Blind bleat called in small buck. Thought it was fawn but then used binocs n saw it was spike or 3pt at best. 70yds. Then he started running in circles like a maniac. I quit at 1030.Dad didn’t see anything and he quit at 11am. Checked a cam and my number 1 target buck (big 7pt.) was still alive as of 11/12.Tomorrow I plan to head back to Westchester (3S) with bow. Haven’t been there in 2 weeks.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
BizCT
11/24 (morning):I hunted 3S with bow for first time in 2 weeks. Saw nothing, so checked cam at 10am.Can’t believe I’m giving up gun hunting on parents land, but just think this is a better chance at a nice one even though it’s much harder with bow.Haven’t been here in 2 weeks but They keep coming to the scrape on ground that I made and pissed in. But they come at night (except for spike who I wouldn’t shoot). Hoping 1 slips up this afternoon for me. I’ll be heading back there. Dad is hunted dark to dark In 3N with shotgun and so far watched a spike for an hour and seen a whole flock Of turkeys.Of course I’d like to see that nice 8 again, but the 7pt in the last pic would be sufficient for me for my first Mathews kill. BizCT
11/24 (afternoon):Dad saw nothing the rest of the day in 3N.I, on the other hand, have a very eventful afternoon in 3S with bow. 2pm get to my hunting spot and Some guy yells from a car that it’s private property and I can’t hunt. I said I have permission. He yells I’m calling the cops.230pm. 2 Cops come. I showed them my licenses and explained who I have permission from. They let me go back to Hunting.315pm - 345pm: watched 5 deer (2 does/3 fawns). They all came to the scrape, but no bucks in tow. BizCT
11/25: I didn’t hunt, but Dad shot a nice 6pt a few min before 8am this morning. I had been telling him to sit below the acorn blind on the next ridge with shotgun so he can see more and shoot farther. This morning he did. He shot the buck quartering away at 60yds straight downhill. Dropped in his tracks. I came and helped him get the buck out and checked cam to see one of our top shooters still alive yesterday afternoon while I was hunting with bow in 3S. Oh well. My dad is done with 2 bucks for the year, so maybe I’ll get a crack at this guy.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
BizCT
Btw, my Dad’s buck’s bases were covered in fresh tree bark. Must have been rubbing very recently. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
BizCT
11/26: Dad is done for the year with 2 bucks killed already.I hunted 2pm - dark in 3N and saw nothing. But my top target buck is still alive and walked by this morning. 2 days after the afternoon shot I got. I’m always 1 step behind this guy. Unfortunately I can’t hunt again till Saturday so I’ll either go there or back to 3S with bow.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

BizCT
12/3: Hunted in 3N till 1030am and saw nothing. Been after this 8pt since July lol.Since I can’t catch up with him on upper part of property, I sat this morning 55yds from lower property Cam. He came thru Friday mid morning while I was at work of course lol. Time 1 Hour off so really 925am. I fixed clock. Then on way out I checked upper cam where I sat last night. And the 8pt came to where I sat last night to sniff the estrous scent I sprayed. Of course after I was gone! 6.5hrs too late. A lone doe at 11pm and the 8pt at 1102pm.Onto next week. I think I’ll just come back here next weekend and not even bother with 3S with bow even there are nice ones there too. BizCT
12/9 morning: saw nothing but checked cams and my 8pt still alive as of 12/6 and this morning.Afternoon: walked in slow and 215pm as I crested a Ridge, I caught movement to my right and there was the 8pt I have had pics of since June. Looked like a racehorse, nice rack and the obvious weaker left side G3. 20yds away and we are face to face heading right at each other. I didn’t want to raise gun and him bound away so I stayed still squinting and he started bobbing his head. I was hoping he would take 1 step behind a tree and I would raise my gun. We stared down for a full 2min and I kept contemplating just going for it with a quick jerk raise and shoot but really thought if I waited him out he would walk fast or turn and I would get shot. Instead in 1 leap he bounded down the steep incline and I couldn’t stop him. I waited 20min and started tracking him. Giants leaps downhill turned to a slow walk and by 315pm as 350yds later I caught movement and he was off running again, no shot. I gave up at that point and found his bed. A spot on the property I never been before since it’s heavy and now I know is probably where he always beds. Heartbreaking. I heard 5 shots in a row at 330 and wonder if someone was shooting at him. Hindsight is I should have taken a chance with quick lift and shoot but if that failed I would have been second guessing myself the other way. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Sometimes a quick jerk is the answer! Next time try the old " What's that over there!?" And point a different direction, when he looks away plug him. As long as you hit near him he should drop dead (from the overwhelming soundwave). Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
