philoshop
Looks like it's going to be a nasty one. 6 to 10 feet of storm surge on the coast and 3+ feet of rain over the next several days as the storm lingers. 3 feet of snow sucks, but I can't imagine 3 feet of rain. My cousin is a hunting dog trainer southeast of Houston, and he's been scrambling for the last two days to get 15 animals to safe locations and to secure his property. He had planned on staying to protect his property from looters and whatnot, but he's decided to vamoose. I wish him the best.
The_Real_TCIII
Its funny you mention that, my friend just texted me from San Antonio. His wife just came home with two chocolate lab pups to foster for the next two weeks
WNYBuckHunter
My ex's brother owns a very prominent custom car buisiness in Houston. I know he's prepping, getting vehicles transported out of the area and securing things at home. I'm not sure if he's gonna stay or leave. I'm hoping he heads out. Sounds like it could be a bad deal for them down there.
philoshop
I have three cousins in southeast Texas. The one who lives in a Houston suburb told me just recently that the city is basically paralyzed after a 4" rainfall because they don't have the infrastructure to deal with the water. They're now looking at potentially 2 feet of rainfall.

Doc
I suppose that it will eventually take that favorite track up into the northeast so we can be blessed with another monsoon season. But first things first. A few prayers for those folks down there are certainly in order.
philoshop
I don't think it will have a weather impact on us, Doc, but the thoughts and prayers are appreciated. Hopefully the folks in that area have their heads screwed on right and know when to say when. You can't stand up to a storm that big. He boarded up his house and sent his wife, kid and dogs up to his parents place in San Antonio, and currently is on 24 hour emergency status for the duration of the storm...
