This one was taken the year before the one in the other pic. In the same spot. I actually missed the one in the first pic the year I got this one. Glad my friend got it. He has helped me drag deer miles on public land even after 2 back surgeries. Only costs me a box of brews each time.

Let's say I double that, get you 2 box's of your favorite brew, keep em cold and you let me in on that stand of yours....??? Lol. It's Def on my bucket list to hit the triangle but I refuse to "pay" for a whitetail. It's very tough to find good public too, as nobody gives you the real scoop on decent spots. I was trying to do an Ohio bowhunt on public this year with a friend of mine but his wife had some medical issues and we didn't make it there. Without serious scouting I'm cautious to invest the effort just off topo maps.

Look up Waconda reservoir in north central Kansas. There are miles of public hunting around it. It can be very hectic during gun season at times. Carr creek is where these two came from. It's about a half mile walk or more back in to where it's good but all of the lead slingers are too lazy to go that far in. Another good spot is granite creek. Our deer populations are way down because of about 5 years of drought but you can still shoot a nice one if you're willing to work for it.
