That’s all you needed to pay because now next year you are under the 10k so ur good.... anyone who pays everything up front is a moron. either way because then they get no write off next year. You just want to pre pay the portion of next years that would put you over the 10k cap like you did

You could yes and try and make up for that too. This plan really does hurt those of us who pat high taxes and make a substantial income
In New York State. Funny you would think that the segment of people that this plan hurts is the Red voters that live in blue states

Well I just paid all mine early , all $2,400 of it , next year I should come in close to the 10k cap as well .

Personally I question why folks chose to pay those high levels of taxes that I read about .

the other guys Father was right ,it’s not what you make but what you spend . We could easily buy a house on the water, but there is no way I’d ever pay those taxes .

By staying in our small 1,700 sq home and driving used cars our kids have no college debt, and we’re sitting in butter !

Why do we pay them, because my kids will go to a very good school. They will live close to
The city, be exposed to culture, diversity, live in a safe place...... mainly because My wife wants to live here lol

It's about quality of life for me. I take a 46min. express train to work and after STAR I pay around $13,400 in taxes to be in a good school district (for kids someday) with a 2,000 sq ft. raised ranch and inground pool. My neighbors pay about $2K less because they don't have pools. For me it's worth it since my wife and I both love the pool and someday hopefully our kid(s) will too. If I lived farther north my taxes would be much lower but my commute would suck. If I lived closer to NYC in a good school district my taxes would be double. It's all about finding a happy medium. My wife and I could have bought a much more expensive house, but we are happy with what we have and don't plan on upgrading. We max out the 401K's, go on vacations, and hope to retire early.

I couldn’t even guess. I’m banking on my parents a few days a week parlayed with my wife going to part-time for the others. So One could say I would paying whatever salary my wife loses.

You know, instead of us here in the "lib" states whining and stamping our feet over the fact that our high state taxes are causing us to lose out on the full potential of the tax cuts, maybe we ought to be doing something about our state legislators who run the state government like they have an endless pit of free money. It seems to me like you all are getting ticked off at the wrong people. Maybe it's not so bad that we are getting a boot in the butt by having our tax situation being highlighted with this tax law. A little reminder of the conditions that we have allowed to fester here is not a bad thing.

You’re preaching to the choir here doc. I doubt many of us pro gun folks vote blue
