My birthday buck.

I've tried for 38yrs to tag a buck, any buck on my birthday.  Yes, I passed some barley legal 3" spikes over the yrs.  I've taken several nice bucks before my bday or the day after or even later in the season. 

Today I broke the curse. I seen this buck crossing the old farm lane about 80 yrds out.  It was too thick to get a shot. It took 30min to cut the distance to 25yrds before I had a softball sized window to the back of his neck. 

I couldn't be more happier. The type of hunt made the difference, despite he's not the biggest buck in the woods.

My first birthday buck. He would have gotten a pass if it wasn't my bday, but he's a trophy to me.

Better late than never as they say. I got my birthday deer back on 11/9.
