Emptied last years ML load

Still had the powder and bullet in my NEF 50 cal In-Line from last year  so I stopped over to our Rod & Gun Club to shoot it . Right on target . Came home , cleaned the barrel and breech plug and reloaded it for tomorrow afternoon's outing . I could have removed the breech plug and pushed the load out with the ram-rod but that is messy and a pain to clean up . Anyway , the ML is ready for some action . All I need is for some deer to cooperate !

It's a shame they stopped making the NEF huntsman, side kick and heritage line of muzzloaders . Those green mountain barrels are tack drivers with just about anything you shove down the barrel. I have a SS Heritage with a upgraded Hubbard's ram rod and metrics unlimited breech plug which allows one to shoot BH209 reliably.

I don't leave a charge in it past the season for fear of corrosion if using black powder.

Which NEF are you shooting ?

I have to 50 cal NEF Huntsman . It uses the orange primer holders that I find useful as I have arthritis in my fingers . I made an adapter to use with the ramrod so I don't have to mess with the one that comes with the ML . Bought the NEF at the Avon Gun Shop years ago for $135 .

I always try to shoot an old load out. As long as there is no concern for a possible double load. Never had one not fire before the couple times ive accidentally left it loaded after season

Wow,there is definitely some joke worthy material in there LOL.
