rachunter
I've been looking at turkey vests. I'm leaning towards the cabela's tactical tat'r kickstand vest? anyone use this vest or have a recommendation. There's really no place around here I can get a hands on look at one. https://www.cabelas.com/catalog/product.jsp?productId=1153689&type=product&WT.z_btnclk=YMAL-1153689&WT.z_pg_ref=prd730722
grampy
I was searching for a new turkey vest just last week, and this one definitely caught my eye. I really like the kickstand idea for a solid back rest! The three inch pad, and plenty of pockets would make this one a good choice I think! Comfort makes for a more enjoyable hunt. And for all you get, the price is reasonable too. This may be the one.

LET EM GROW
I just bought the Tenzig Turkey vest for Predator hunting this year. I found it on amazon last spring for 73$ .. Has kick stand and tons of pockets, too many really. a big thick seat cushion. Besides the many buckles/pockets.. The vest is awesome. The kick stand is great if your not setting against a tree. But it and the frame will be in the way if you plan to set against a tree. Edited March 4, 2019 by LET EM GROW
Pygmy
My favorite was one of the first... The Dick Kirby Grand Slam....I literally wore it out.... A few years ago I replaced it with a Bucklick Creek vest...OK, but not the vest that the Grand Slam was..I took the thin seat off it and use a foam pad, attached to one of the shoulder straps with a Velcro strap... IMHO, the most important part of the vest is a good, rugged game pouch to carry your bird in..Makes a big difference when you have a couple of miles to travel back to the truck over rough and steep terrain...
Uncle Nicky
I wish I could add something positive, but it seems like every year they are coming out with something new, and the vests I've liked are no longer in production. I'd look for a vest that fits your style of hunting. If you're not walking far or sitting with the vest on, just get something basic. For the way I hunt, I need LOTS of pockets, a THICK cushion to sit on, and a BIG pouch in the back to carry a bird on the days I get lucky. Hope this helps.

Got a lot of good little pouches for mouth calls, slate calls, box calls, you name it. The kickstand part works pretty well, you still want a tree to lean on though.
DirtTime
That looks like a good option. Looks solid and comfy. Let us know what you end up buying. I don't use a vest or a pack turkey hunting most times. I can fit everything I need in pockets. If not, I have and old TAC vest and some old ALICE/web gear harnesses that work for me. I did however, learn a huge lesson/s last Spring because I hunted the gobblers a lot with my bow. I need a higher seat to be able to draw correctly, and hence I need to put up some burlap in from of me. So I use the link below and it worked well for me. I would say it was great, but it's not easy to get a turkey to cooperate with bow ranges at times. This chair fit my burlap and para cord in the storage area just fine. https://www.amazon.com/Ameristep-High-Back-Chair-Realtree-Frame/dp/B078HB1DSJ/ref=zg_bs_3413691_14/143-8743242-6887969?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=G33NJNJ2NXYYESF1R191 Edited March 5, 2019 by Rob...
UpStateRedNeck
Saw this in an article while on the can this morning :. https://www.amazon.com/ALPS-OutdoorZ-NWTF-Long-Spur/dp/B07LC8SZS8/ref=as_li_ss_tl?keywords=Alps+Outdoorz+Long+Spur+Deluxe+vest&qid=1551379035&s=gateway&sr=8-4-fkmrnull&linkCode=sl1&tag=outdoorlife03-20&linkId=99a4e4043c09016dd817c0db866bffcc&language=en_US O complaints about the Tat'r vest. I'm a big boy and it gives a nice amount of back support. You're going to be half laying down if you try and plop down without a tree, but it will keep you 50% upright (that's what she said). With a nice tree behind you you are very comfortable. Edited March 6, 2019 by UpStateRedNeck
The_Real_TCIII
I ditched the vest for a hip pack years ago, I found I took out about three times as much stuff as I actually use. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
rachunter
Well I got the tat'r kickstand vest today. It's has plenty of room for sure and quit comfortable. Three things !] the seat doesn't stay up 2] I thought i'd be able to get my decoys out without taking the vest off. 3]If your a box call guy the pocket is very small I use a waterproof wizard which is small anything over 7" isn't going to fit well. I like how the pockets zip or hook and you can lock the zippers with the hoops.I'm heading up to my place this weekend to check things out so I'll load it up and see how it really feels. damn sideward pics!!!!
