And yet not one accident (recorded) and no one sat at a light or was forced to hang out at the intersection for minutes.

I faintly remember a study where they removed all traffic signals and lane markings at a busy intersection and it reduced traffic dramatically. They made the decision by studying the movement pattern of ant colonies after noticing that ants never had any “fender benders” even though there are thousands moving in all directions. Forced people to pay attention and, dare I say, be conscientious of others.

That video plays at at least double speed which makes it look a lot more dangerous than it really is.  It is easy to tell that by watching the folks "speed-walking".
