Chipmunk attacking juvenile rabbit ?

I saw a chipmunk attack a small rabbit today it jumped up and went  right for the neck .

Never seen that before was it a territory thing or was that chipmunk actually trying to kill and eat that rabbit which still had to be 3 times the size of it . Pretty crazy

Looked on YouTube looks like I'm not the first to observe this Behavior, they got some balls on them .

Ive heard of them going after rabbits before.  Never saw it first hand.

Co-teacher of mine saw one grab a bird just TODAY and drag it off. Bird was going crazy as it was chirping for its life- chipmunk pulled it down its hole and the noise stopped!
Is today their reckoning day or something!!?

I have seen more and more of them around in my neighborhood  . 20 years ago none around here . And they are getting more and more aggressive seems like .
