Blind Work

Recommended Posts

Got up early and went to the lake property, to check the setups over there. And trim up stuff in the shooting lanes. All set now! Looks great! Tons of deer sign too. This is usually a great early season spot. So I'll concentrate my efforts there early on. Always a chance at a mature buck too.20190908_115621.thumb.jpg.38345c2e8dc0c5e01f9729a2c3d091e1.jpg20190908_115138.thumb.jpg.8f1afacf42363e8610f3c27a6ae0ddfa.jpg20190908_112428.thumb.jpg.0c29a4ff225d3680116d619ca2e871d4.jpg20190908_111907.thumb.jpg.b83f14ed7c30e4fa4713645e7d1e5553.jpg20190908_105521.thumb.jpg.2428105f3702eb3370a3eabecc4b35e3.jpg20190908_103108.thumb.jpg.c6ff91e5bf7df069040981a64ab25fa3.jpg20190908_103030.thumb.jpg.4915e537236e87893b9cd523219b64b0.jpgThis is where I'll likely get my bow kill this year. 22 yards to this run. It's a perfect natural deer funnel. And we've taken a bunch of deer here over the years.

I have a similar Blind set up in New Jersey on a slightly smaller Scale. I use my wallyworld step up stool as a seat there. Took a NJ Fall Gobbler there last Nov. Hope for a repeat this year.

Today my grandson and I were at the farm. We redid my hunting partners favorite blind. He's been a bit under the weather. He's killed a few nice bucks from this spot. Killed a couple there myself. Probably one of the best spots on the property. He's good to go now.

Next we went up to "the big swamp". Got two blinds in there that always gets some action during the rut. Just a bit of tidying up needed here.

We had a great day in the woods together. He has a busy schedule with school and football. So nice he spends his one day off with grampy.

"The sportsman lives his life vicariously. For he secretly yearns to have lived before, in a simpler time. A time when his love for the land, water, fish and wildlife would be more than just part of his life. It would be his state of mind."

For me, nothing beats hunting deer on their level. You know what I  mean Biz, you're a ground pounder too!
