This is true and from some online digging it appears both are within 0.1 second 0-60 with mine eeking out imperceptibly faster. But yes both fairly slow. But still pretty decent for a pickup and an SUV

To put in to perspective how much has changed in drivetrain technology , with just a tune and nothing else ,that ranger would smoke the corvette you had.

I think it would take a little more. I had a 92 ZR1. It was 375hp and 375 torque. You might be thinking of the non zr1’s and pre-92. Before that they were only like 225hp.

 

Edit - 3 seconds to make up 0-60mph is a lot!

Technology has been pretty impressive when it comes to modern day power. I agree with Jeremy with a tune and very little money your turbo'd ranger would have kept up with the 92 corvette in a drag race. 

Modern sedans are putting out as much power, torque and 0-60 times as the 90's mustangs and camero's.

New turbo technology is amazing , the engines are built to handle a ton of power ,a tune just increases boost essentially . You start adding exhaust and injectors you can make ridiculous power . That truck can launch like an AWD with the drivetrain you have and then only use RWD once you get off the line.

My vette was black rose too. Hit 151mph once. A little scary but honestly felt like it had a lot more to go if I had the room to do it

I’m sure you’re right I just can’t imagine the Ranger going 180-200mph without a ton of work done. That’s all I meant
