Hello everyone, Im Jacob currently located in Queens. This year is my first for bowhunting and hunting in general. So far I get to observe nature for entire month with bow in my hand during turkey season, no turkeys tho. Ive been hunting with a friend in Putnam county.

Now with deer season closing up and spending summer practicing, cant wait to see what fall brings.

Anyone here from NYC interested in bowhunting together? I could use some good teaching since youtube and google cant teach you all.

Do you know any good public areas not that far off from city?

Tons of watershed land in Westchester that you can access as a bowhunter.  Make sure you get your free DEP permit before you go and read the rules to each location as they vary.  Things change year to year.  Once everyone finds the hot spot, the deer thin out and move to a new location.  After a few years of it being dead, deer comes back.  Having not been in the woods for 2 years, I was able to sneak out for a day last year.  Returned to one of my spots last year and it was dead.  Normally I'm out there through out August checking to see which spot is going to be hot this year.
