One time flying out of Ketchikan the takeoff was aborted due to an eagle being ingested in the jet engine..

Wild country in Alaska...

Dear Captain, I guess that was the sound we ALL HEARD, then the clamping of butt cheeks and smell of burning feathers.

This right after 9/11 flying restrictions were lifted....Can't imagine the THUD a bear would make at speed.....

Imagine being the poor hunter who was up in Alaska to hunt brown bear and never saw a single bear.  Then as his plane is taking off to bring him home... whack!
