Fin’ woodpeckers are ruining my blind

Two years ago they started and I put a mouse trap on the siding and caught it ..

Woodpeckers only peck where there is bugs to eat. Likely that you have a infestation drawing the woodpecker

Just my dos centavos.

was just going to say what DDT said. Your blind is likely buggy. Only other time they do this is when they pick a tree or building that resonates when they peck it. Use sound to attract mates and establish territories.

In my neighborhood the wood peckers have done a number on all the ash trees going after the emerald ash borers.  Surprised there were any bugs in the plywood they'd be interested in.

Yea the ply has three coats of paint on it and never seen any bugs

mlammerhirt- Aluminum ladder or other stuff like foofing is often for the sound effects in the mating /territory establishment time. Sometimes it is a close woodpecker relative, the common flicker

They do that to attract a mate . Bang on an old number 10 pail I have on a stump as well ,sound like a riveter making a ship

They would be on edge on on face as face is treated and they are after glue between layers

Had one where we used to live that would hammer on a stop sign. That was loud! Big pileated woodpecker.

Got 8 pcs of steel siding , 8ft long for 20.00

It’s a bitch cutting it with tin snips but I got two sides done , still gotta do the peaks too..

Camo painted too , lol
