Leather work

Recommended Posts

Just wanted to show these off and brag about my stepfather some.

Tom's newest hobby is a little leather craft. He's been showing me bits and pieces of his work the last couple times I've visited. I found the old knives in my cabinet. They were my grandfather's knives that I'd saved years ago. Neither had a sheath so I asked him to make me some.

I stopped by today and he was proud as punch to give these to me. He even thought to dig through my camping gear stored at their place, find my hatchet and made a cover for that too.

Tom will be 75 in a couple days. Don't know how he's made it the last 25 years being married to my mother but I he's a survivor! Thanks again Dad.

Appreciate the kind sentiments. Tom is one of a kind. We all need someone as an example to aspire to and Tom's my guy. Devoted husband to my mother, a super grandfather to my sons and a rock for me as a father. Pretty handy too lol. Thanks again.

Knife sheaths really added a nice touch with the extra rivets. That's something I've been going to build for 4 years now . The leather prices have gone out of site. I don't know if tanned deer hides would be thick enough? Their sure cheap enough.
