Silver Fox

At the age of 20,I had a great idea of raising Silver Fox LOL .I took care of them as good as many good dog owners take care of their dogs .I collected urine from them for my own personal use on the Trapline .Urine that was collected was done from November til February.Fox were fed during that time an assortment of meat (beaver,muskrat,ect.)Learned a good bit about fox in general .Granted ,they were more domesticated than Wild .When time warrants ,I may get back into it a bit .Figured some may find it interesting.

Probably their vocalization .I had 13 fox in total.The way they constantly communicate with many different sounds to each other was cool.I know wild k9s do,but to be around it daily was interesting.

I once had an old time fur rancher out of Indiana  reach out to me and send me a big box full of Magazines on Fur Farming .

Although I never got involved with the ranching aspect ,the info about mutations ,genetics are awesome to read about .It was truly a different time then .I was born a tad too late .

We raised Borisa for her urine…and of course she got lots of loving!  She was especially fond of my Son.  Unfortunately she was attacked by a hawk and we needed to put her to sleep…nothing the vet could do.  A very sad day.

Very nice Dino .Our next pet here will be a fennec Fox .Possibly Some silvers this year also .

We did bury her…and had a nice paw cast made that we keep on our mantle.  I would get another sliver fox down the road.  Right now, Samson, our GSP, keeps us very busy!
