Those were some good days last winter and this spring.

Not sure where you are, but let me know if you want to get out together sometime. If we ever get some higher water.

I'm in ithaca area. Same boat, found some ll's and browns this year but no bows yet. Hot hot still. Deer season has me ate up with the dumbass until I punch that tag. Plus ducks are still around. I appreciate the offer.  What lake are you fishing out of?

Mostly Canandaigua.

I think Kmartinson is right. There are some finger lakes tribs that are pretty hard to beat.
Beautiful, and outstanding fishing.

Those stocked fish wouldn’t make it 6 months as a fry on the Delaware system

Nice...while I don't know anything about that fishery which seems jacked with fish from your post, I am not sure how that detracts from the west branch/roscoe area rivers

You are 100% wrong.

Browns and lakers are stocked in Canandaigua lake.

Rainbows have not been stocked in a very long time. Since the early 20th century.

These are naturally spawning fish.

Likewise, I know nothing about west branch. I'm sure it's great.

The rainbows and the majority of browns run to spawn.

There are a few browns in the creek all year though, as well as very small rainbows that haven't gone to the lake yet.

Once in awhile you will catch a brookie in there, but it's rare.

If I lived there may be more into it. But it's long ways away from home and the few times I went I wasn't impressed nor did I see anything impressive. Running water is awesome no matter what. Grew up on owego creek, and virgil creek, caught many fish (browns) over 20", and the tribs to cayuga hold monsters. Reproduction rates for rainbows in cayuga is really great also. I dont hunt catskills much either because you fight with all the people from downstate. I'm not digging on anyone, just my experiences. Roscoe Diner is pretty good though.

That's like here, can fish fall creek all winter and catch the Lakers spawn once in a while also.

It's not the big "d" or the "bk" but I'm happy. Most of these fish were were caught in 2 days by a friend and hos father from Italy who never trout fished before. Many natural fish where I'm at and brookies haven't been stocked in over 50 years here.

Cool.  The silver bladed Panther martin with the yellow body and red dots is money.  I still have some of the older ones that say made in Italy on the blades.  Interesting that guys from Italy were using a lure that was once made in Italy.

Also some of these guys probably poo poo the spinner and spinning rod, but I do it all. Fly, spin, centerpin, net, spear, bow, floss, whatever it takes.
