  1. Rage has the 40KE's rear deploying broadheads as mentioned above. For light draw weights, short draw lengths. Got a pack right here. They have a chart on the back to compare draw weight against draw length. For use with 40 lbs. kinetic energy or less. 1 1/2"cutting diameter. The pack says put'em down. Get your game or money back. I take that with a grain of salt.

  4. On some shows (TX and Mexico high fence) 8-pts are seen as "management bucks", but Lee and Tiffany certainly don't waste their precious Iowa tags on culling out 8-pts, they only shoot fully mature 4.5-5.5+ year old deer. This deer is only 2.5, he was a 4-pt last year...

  7. Speed will not make a bit of difference for her. We are talking 15 yards, 45 feet, meaning if the arrow is moving at 200 fps its there in .255 of a second, now go out and shoot at 300 fps and it gets there in .150 of a second making a difference of .105 of a second. Here is what I recomend, stop trying to shoot deer over a NJ bait pile, they are obviously on alert from pressure and scent. Move to a new spot free of said pressure and she will be fine. My wife shoots a Parker Sidekick that is "slow" at 45 pounds and had zero problems killing a deer a couple of years ago. It ain't the bow.

  9. I want to preface this by saying I am not profiling. Four years ago on opening morning of rifle her in 6a, three gentleman from westchester county had ventured up here to hunt. They shot an amish draft horse that was pregnant. They thought it was a spike horn. They also shot 15 minutes before legal light. The guy who shot had an m1 which holds 8 shots which is illegal unless modified and he had 50 rounds on a bandelero strapped across him to hunt for the day. By the time they paid for the horse, and court fines and fees, that was a 5 grand hunt for them. So a chuckle is ok, but it is reality. OOPS I forgot to add they shoot it on private property they had no permission to be on.

  10. Why do hunters talk about ethics and a slow death, and then go bow hunting ? And the bow hunters class will tell you to wait 4 hours before searching for the deer.
