  1. Wow, you store your guns in the trunk of your car and I'm the "idiot" or "moron" it's time for you to grow up, put on your big boy pants and take some responsibility for your actions. Calling people names and swearing on a public message board only reinforces what my thoughts of you are. Again, you left the gun in your trunk for months and wonder why it rusted???? Call Remington and tell them this and see what they say.....lmao

  2. I lived in TX for a while. Looked into hunting while I lived there, but everything I could find was leases only, and at prices I sure couldn't afford at that part of my life. It's kinda getting the same way around here (WNY) but at least I have the option of large state owned lands if I am willing to drive a bit. What really did me in down there was the heat-- I get ill easily if it's too hot and I was miserable for 8 months out of the year. TX isn't as free as it likes to think. Do a search on what's going on with the Keystone Pipeline on private property down in TX if you're curious. To be fair, this is happening in many areas, not just TX. That said, TX is fine for those that don't mind hot summers, and they do have a lot of game animals down here. If it floats your boat, awesome! A wise friend of mine once said: "It's okay to not like things, just don't be a d**k about the things you don't like." Beware the fire ants. First hand experience. For me, I'll do what I can here in NY to fight some of the insanity, though I know that my letters and calls will only do so much. I won't stop trying, though.

  3. soak 0000 steel wool in a jar of hopes solvent and then with light pressure buff the rust, it will come right off. you can then cold blue the spots that are left. blueing is a rusting process so to remove the rust you will also remove the blue under the rust if it is that thick. thin surface rust will come right off with a hopes 9 solvent dripping soaked 0000 steel wool sponge. If you are in southern Vt this winter I am 20 minutes from Orvis, I can run your gun through the gunshop we have and it will be ready to go while we have coffee and BS about hunting guns and dogs. we make flintlocks but its no problem to fix that up for you since you are a member of this forum. drop me a line if you are coming, will be in vt until june then moving perm to Wyoming. thanks and good luck, hell it happens to everyone if they have guns and use them, had a leaking trunk wrecked a 92 Winchester on me like that, was mint, now its a reblued truck gun

  5. Nostradamus predicted the following in 1563: "4,5,0 til man hunt racked cow en Neuva York with crossbow next to man with bow" I translate the above to mean: "450 years until crossbows are allowed in archery season in NY"

  6. SAN ANTONIO (Reuters) - Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott has a message for New York gun owners: Come to Texas, and bring your guns with you. "Texas is better than New York, and New York just gave us another excuse to say that," Abbott, a Republican, said on Thursday, after ads extolling Texas appeared on several media websites. New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, a Democrat, signed sweeping gun-control legislation earlier this week expanding the state's ban on assault weapons and putting limits on ammunition capacity in the wake of last month's school shootings in Connecticut. Abbott, a possible candidate for governor of Texas in next year's election, used campaign money to buy ads on websites of news organizations in New York City and Albany. One ad says in classic Western script: "WANTED: Law abiding New York gun owners seeking lower taxes and greater opportunities." Clicking on the ad leads to a Facebook page touting the virtues of Texas, including the fact that the state has no income tax so "you'll be able to keep more of what you earn and use that extra money to buy more ammo." Abbott told Reuters the ads are a "way to tweak our liberal friends up in the Northeast." "It is tongue in cheek, but there is a deeper message here," he said. "Texas really does stand as the last bastion of ultimate freedom in this country. Over the last decade, more than 4 million people moved to this state, and one reason is freedom and one reason is economic opportunity." Abbott has said he will file a federal lawsuit to throw out any nationwide gun restrictions implemented by Congress. A Cuomo spokesman did not immediately respond to an emailed request for comment.

  7. IMHO this pack of rats intentionally structured the bill to reduce the number of guns available to law abiding citizens, and slowly (by attrition) eliminate legal guns that are already out there. Some manufacturers will not spend the money to redesign their guns or mags to accept 7 rounds. You can no longer buy, what they define as, an assault rifle and the ones that are currently owned (by honest citizens) must eventually be sold out of state or surrendered to the state. Internet ammo sales are banned which means that people who legally own firearms chambered in hard to find calibers can no longer get ammo for them..6.5 Swiss, 7.7 Jap, 250/3000 savage, 32-20 etc... even 16ga. and 28ga shells are hard to find. The fact that these little rats are not ashamed of themselves tells you exactly the type of "people" we are dealing with.

  8. That is their twisted version of thinking that they are doing something about violence. Really .... They think they are doing something useful, and it makes them feel good. That is the sorry state of public thinking these days. Problems don't have to be really addressed. All we need is the perception that something is being done. That's the same mentality that produces the NYS gun laws that were just recently passed. We've even seen some of that kind of thinking on this forum in recent weeks. It doesn't matter whether the actions represent anything useful, just that it makes us feel good and provides the perception that "something" is being done. These school official are of the same mentality.

  13. Good show. Federal prosecutor on show just brought up a good point regarding the reasonable restrictions commentary from the supreme court ruling (dc vs. Heller). If the criminals who possess illegal weapons containing 15 or 30 rounds, restricting legal gun owners to 7 rounds to protect themselves, and their property is not a reasonable restriction.

  15. The NYS Rifle and Pistol Association in conjunction with the NRA will be filing a Notice of Claim prior to submitting a brief on the merits of the constitutionality of the new Cuomo NY Safe gun laws. Involved in the law suit will be two of the nations best 2nd Amendment lawyers. This is a very important proceeding and must be handled properly with the best lawyers. Please support these efforts. www.join-nysrpa.org

  16. I fully expect the government to lie to us. It's the only way they can pursue their agenda. So as long as you remember that most politicians are lieing bastards and the government can control what the media reports to the ungratetfull servants (us), none of this will surprise you any longer. So now we have an assault rifle ban. Lets think like the commie liberal bastards for a moment. With the success on the assault ban, we can now release information that semi auto pistols were the only ones used and start a media campaign to dupe the public into believing .WE HAVE TO BAN PISTOLS NOW!!! This entire thread and all the others that contain analogies of why gun control wont work, etc etc etc is a waste of energy. Gun owners must realize that the liberals do not care about the constitution, the safety of kids or anybody else. They care about money, power and themselves. All this wasted energy would be better spent trying to figure out how we are going to get this useless piece of crap of a governor , out of office before he becomes president. WE have less than 2 years to do it!!!

  17. I am outraged at this ban that was pushed down our throats. It is the principal of the thing, OUR second amendment right! The only way NYS ever listens is when we take the money away from them. I propose to ALL hunters out there to NOT buy a hunting license this year in NYS and boycott the state. You can drive south and hunt in Pennsylvania. It probably wouldn't cost much more than our rediculously high priced licenses here. You can also purchase anything you need for hunting, ammo, etc there. I own 65 acres behind my house to hunt on, but this year, after my license is expired, I will purchase one from PA to hunt and spend my money there. Drake58

  18. I did just read the article you posted earlier. . let me reword what I said to clarify, I do believe this school shooting did in fact happen, I dont believe that people are making this horrible thing up, my point is I dont believe that the AR 15 was the sole weapon used. Unfortunetly I did not record the live coverage while the state police were searching the car, but I did in fact watch the police take the ar15 out of the trunk of the shooters vehicle. on the TV. I also I am not saying the goverment set this up and is a hoax. I just do not believe the AR15 was not used to shoot these poor children based on what I seen. Maybe the ar15 pulled from the vehicle was a second rifle that was not used and the one used was inside.... ...... who knows I wasnt there. Please dont take what I am saying as an insult to you or any of the respondeds and what they have actually witnessed. This is just my opinion. besidres it doesnt make any difference anymore this event did happen and lives were lost and the Ban on AR15's did happen......

  19. Seems the media is trying to leave out the part that the AR was never used... (This is coming as fact from many yet is kept hush hush.) In so far as facts, well they can be swept under the carpet to make an agenda. As of today it is ILLEGAL to sell your semi auto fire arm in NYS. If you do not believe me call any gun store and ask to purchase or send/recieve one... We have one year to get this law removed or everyone with one of these "banned" guns will be a criminal if they do not register... I do not believe the conspiracy BS but to say the media and the politicians did not use these kids to thier advantage is BS!!! Next time this happens with a lever action or a simple semi auto rifle they will make us register all guns. This way when the freedom of information act is used some idiot newspaper can publish all our addresses and the criminals will know where to get guns... Or when the Man wants to take all guns from us he will have our addresses... I hear Texas is a great place... They shoot back... And if you kill one of them they kill you right back... Plus the deer are awsome!!! Just a thought...

  20. pistol, ar dosent matter kids are dead. this adam was the cause. you need to start looking beyond the little inconsistancys and look at the bigger picture. he was sick needed help or reacted violently to his meds. want a cover up? start with columbine, work your way foward. 15 to 20 mass or very violent murder crime involving the same 2 or 3 meds. no investigative report from anyone. think bigger.

  21. Got my w2, fourth year in a row i made less money. property taxes forced me to sell my cottage on otsego lake. gov. say nobody hunts with an ar ( my primary woods rifle 50 beowuf) and decides i dont need it. roads and bridges falling apart, schools deciding new sports complexes with astro turf is more important then reading writing and math. and a different state says come on down your welcome here. um makes you think.

  25. If all pro-gunners move to Texas, it's only a matter of time until it's the Alamo all over again. Neat story but everyone inside ended up dead. I'm running on the "don't let the bastards win" plan.

  26. Basically, the opening question in your reply reflects most of what's wrong in this country. Today's attitudes pretty much follow the selfish philosophy of, "Let someone else do it". There is no shortage of examples of that kind of thinking. And failure to support one's advocacy organizations is just one of those examples. Now it appears that there is a sub-division of that group of individuals, that actually find themselves conflicted between having someone working on behalf of their 2nd amendment rights, and their political idealogy. That one is fun to watch.

  27. Just like doctors, guns are also capable of saving lives, many many lives. The best gun is one that doesn't need to be fired at another human being. Strip guns from the people, and see how fast crime rates jump and how fast governments abuse the people.
