  1. I will now have a 20x10 ft walk in cooler to hang and cut my deer up in.. No more worrying about what to shoot and when...I don't have to sit home because the temps decided to hit 70 and I'm worried about getting the deer gutted dragged hung and processed by my self...just gut it and hang it in the cooler...set up the cutting tables...plenty of room....how to make my year!

  2. not just liberals that think and react. people in general at times do not think with their heads........ they tend to go with the omg what can we do to end this madness. 1... i agree with the above about the vice presidents statement....... where i live it is a law called unlawfull discharge of a firearm not only within city limits but also too close to other buildings but also........ if you shoot that gun.... where is the bullet, slug, shot going to go and end up landing????????? 2... Cumo's rant......... you are right ...it is just a kneejerk opinion to try to scare people into thinking that at any given time you have thousands of deer hunters out in the woods with more bullets then deer.

  6. I didn't have one in my collection yet and I really like birds. It was only about a month and a half late, after an already projected year completion. But the guy did a really nice job. He didn't call me before he did it, but I would have liked an open bill instead of the closed. I have a band that needs to go on his foot. I really like him cupping, looks like he did just before...

  8. My favorite thing to come across in the woods are old foundations , my mind starts racing about who was here and what where they doing and did they ever imagine someday the area would be taken over by the forest and become a hunting spot someday.

  9. Lol, just saw the beginning of " idiocracy" the future is not populated by more intelligent people but by those that just take handouts and reproduce... funny dumb movie at first, but when i think about it it really seems we are headed that way.......

  10. Like you, I got through the beginning (~30min) only and realized the title said it all!! Idiocracy!! Has to be one of the top 5 stupidest movies of all time, even for a "B" movie. IMHO - Wouldn't form any opinions from it or think it was a commentary on mankind's future.

  11. I can see someone who has fallin on hard times using medicaid and welfare, just lets say a mother of two whos husband dies or something and has no other way to get by, OK. But i know of a women that has 6 children with atleast 3 differant men and she collects welfare, lives in section 8 housing and has all her and childrens medical bills payed for by the state while hard working middleclass Americans are losing their health insurance. Oh and dont ask me how but she drives and almost brand new Lexus suv?

  12. If the hungry is aware of what they are being fed then isn't it their choice? The government has a "you don't know what's good for you...we know what's good for you so we're going to tell you how to live your life" agenda going. Sounds like tyranny if you ask me.

  14. They left a round in the chamber when they were firing the first mags. That is why they had one extra round on the last one.

  15. I've also come across and old school bus in the woods, resting on its side and looking all spooky. Much earlier in this thread someone asked who could forget thier gun in the woods? That would be me. I set it in my ground blind after getting my second deer in as many hours. Field dressed him, dragged him back to the barn, got them both cut up and in the freezer and was just starting to doze off...remembering the excitement of the day...playing it all back in my mind...and suddenly, "shit! I left the gun in the woods!"

  16. This shows what every gun owner already knows. The problem is that the anti gun crowd does not care. This whole debate has nothing to do with practical safety measures. It is about further control, further dependence on government, and further loss of liberty.

  17. Good point? hmmm eat venison donated by hunters or go hungry... thats not the other side of story, its the liberals making policy with out concern of the out come. keep one person out of how many from maybe getting sick by starving everyone in need. i dont see the good point.

  18. Have found many things in Allegany State park over the years The old school bus at the edge of the posted land in red house was a great landmark when we'd come out of the woods. My grandfather shot his last deer from it. A pair of camo gloves and a hat that someone dropped. I picked up after seeing them 3 weeks in a row A marker plaque on a tree placed by guys friend that had his name, date of birth and death ( 1971 ) and the quote "get the hell out of my spot" After a manhunt in ASP / salamanca for a convict that escaped, early 90s, I think, came across a leanto with canned food, gallon of water and a blanket. No one there, and I left pretty quick. He had been caught by then, but still.... Have also come across some squared in fenced areas, 50 feet wide, old chain link, can see across the pen, with no signs or anything telling what it was quite a few old cabin foundations, and a couple larger ones from where the logging camp was several old train tracks, and you can still see the shape of the ties, and a few old spikes

  22. old graveyards fascinate me. I'd love to know the story behind the babies. Was it sickness or a bad drought? Just to be taken back to that time and imagine how the small town or family was coping with it.

  24. The DEC gives too many tags in some spots, less than needed tags in another spot, etc. I happen to hunt in an area where deer are plentiful. Come up with a better system. I see people complain about it all the time, and I'm included in that from time to time, but for one thing, nobody has offered a solution. I know I don't have a better system. I'd love to say, check stations, etc. but the bottom line is, at the end, the agency can only do what it can do. If you "feel" the DEC over-issued tags, and you know more than the DEC, then spit out the better system.
