Why would a .270 EVER be superior to a 30-06 ? Essentially the same velocities with equal bullet weights, and the 06 will handle significantly heavier bullet weights than the .270. The 30-06 has a big edge on heavier game, due to it's ability to use 180-220 grain bullets at velocities high enough for shots out to 300 yards or so.

availabilty of ammo and type/weight of bullet selection from factory it has to go to that boring 30-06.

I'm not afraid of them.. my only concern was, they were attacking me through my mother because I don't have a land line and they could only find her... She is 78 and has MS, wheel chair bound and only partial use of 1 hand.. If these idiots came to her house and did anything would be the only thing I would be afraid of.. And only God would be able to stop me from getting to them.. As it is now, I'll let the LE take care of it...

My bathroom has a long mirror on one whole side. So when I sit on the can, I look into the mirror, draw my pistol and say "you talk'n to me?" I know that all of us gun owners do it, but it makes me feel especially "tough". LOL! Gotta love liberal assumptions…So wise LOL!

I've got a buddy that posts a lot of pics on another site who hunts them this way. Definitely not a technique you'll find your average ordinary bottle enthusiast attempting. He's got a heck of a collection though, with some very rare collectibles. I know of a few old privys that have long been covered up. I'm still not sure what approach to take to get permission to dig some up. Heck, my parents have one on their property and they've already denied me,lol

30.06, but if you're serious about brown bear, I'd go with .300 Win Mag.

I stopped at Beikirch's in East Rochester yesterday . They had gotten a crapload of Large Rifle Primers in so I bought 5 boxes (500) . The assistant told me I could buy more if I wanted and I said I would leave some for others rather than hoarding what I really didn't need .

On my way to work I drive by 2 swampy areas and I always see them this time of year.Either dead or heading across the road.I stop to move as many as I can but I have seen a few swerve to hit them.I cant believe people would do that because most of the turtles I see in a given year are older than the majority of the drivers on the road.So why kill them,its not like they are full of rage and come after you if they happen to get in your yard.Dumb azz people I guess!

If you're really serious, look into doing a privy dig or at least check out some videos online. Some beauties are scored doing this. My brother and I plan on digging some privies when we get the time. I've already made up some bottle probes from the trunk springs of a 1970's car that I found out in the woods.

And in more than a few gun shops in Windhoek. Maybe someday I'll get you to see for yourself.

If you want one gun to hunt everything, anywhere.....you need a 12 Gauge, preferrably a pump gun. From bird shot to slugs, there is nothing it cannot hunt.
