  1. Victorinox is the one I use. They’re cheap and good quality. I replaced all my garbage kitchen store (wedding gift kinda stuff) with them. Mine are black handle, but I bet similar to what Chef is talking about. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. So about that 2.5-8 with no home… Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Beautiful. I wish I could get one with a detachable magazine. I’d definitely be inclined to order one if I could! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Thanks for the offer. Id be interested in the scope, but not the rifle. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. More than they’re worth typically, which is why I threw it out here. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I’m looking for a few different rifles and thought I’d check here. Ruger 96/44 or Deerfield Carbine 44 Lever 44 magnum Browning BLR in short action calibers Savage 99 in most calibers Browning Shorttrac or MK3 short actions Also looking for Leupold Vari-x III, VXIII, VX3, VX3i, VX3hd scopes (1.5-5x20, 1.75-6x32, 2.8-8x36) or Leupold compact or ultralight scopes. 7. You didn’t ask, but I’ve used Brownell’s Aluma-Hyde with really good results too. Not Cerakote, but a good, easy to apply coating. I like that you could touch it up easily if ever needed as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I have both, VX3i 2.5-8X36 (a few) and the VX5hd 2-10X42. The added size and weight of the VX5hd is significant to me, while I don’t necessarily see a difference in dim light performance. That said, I can’t say I’ve ever had a complaint about either. For me, the reason for trying the VX5 2-10 was the increased field of view on the lowest power and the increased magnification on the highest. If you care at all about weight, stick with the VX3. If you don’t, the VX5 definitely looks super clear to me (it’s different than the VX3, specifically the way I perceive the crosshairs), but I’ve never found the VX3 lacking. I’ve always wished I could have the size and weight of a VX3 1.5-5X20 in a 1.5-8 or so scope. That doesn’t exist yet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Listen to the Meateater podcast episode about meat and meat processing. I’m no expert, but I’d suspect you are sometimes taking out and cooking the tenderloins at peak rigor mortis. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Stormy Kromer FTW! I love em! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Congrats on the bear Hockey! At the risk of derailment, I believe they were saying it is less common and there are fewer forms out there. I’m some cases, modifying the form may be necessary to do a closed mouth if the form was designed for open mouth. I have two open mouth bears (both taken in the ADKS). One is a rug and the other a half body mount. I don’t recall even seeing a form back then with a closed mouth. I hope you get to actually weigh it. In my opinion it is worth going to buy a scale to know for sure what it weighs. Congrats again! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. World record spike horn! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. This, but you meant 250 grain. Love it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. John Deere X7 series. That said, it’s way more than you need for your house and less than you need for long orchard grass. I’d suggest a normal subdivision lawn mower and a pull behind deal (maybe you already have an atv) for the thicker stuff. Heck, you’d probably be better off hiring out the orchard grass stuff. Everybody and their brother has a subcompact tractor these days with a little brush hog. In my opinion if you want to do both well, but a nice zero turn for your grass and a compact (not subcompact) tractor with implements for the land. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I like the FTX in my muzzleloader. Get the right size sabot and they’re very accurate. I’ve had good performance on critters as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. I just settled on the Apex XL 5. It took me a few tries to find one that would hold my arrows without the mock end sticking out below the cams. For reference it’s a 32” ATA bow with 31 or so inch arrows. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Well…I just had my wife attempt to slow mo video a couple shots. I learned two things: don’t ask my wife to slow mo video a bow shot and my arrows do not at all have a tail left appearance at dusk with lumenoks. All looks good here. I am glad to report I couldn’t believe my arrows would be shooting straight with a bow that I set up in my basement. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. I hope it’s my eyes deceiving me! But…the paper showed a left tear. I’m starting to think it is poor, but consistent form lol. I am hoping to video it and post it as well as soon as I can. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I don’t necessarily mind tinkering…but we are getting close to go time. I don’t believe there is rest contact. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. I’ve shot it out to 40 and they are hitting the same spot. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I recently got a new Bowtech Solution and a new arrow setup and am fine tuning it for the season. I am shooting 30" draw, 71lbs with Sirius Vulcan 250 spine arrows cut 30.5" carbon to carbon, with 200 grain Grizzlystik Samurai broadheads for a total arrow weight of 652 grains. They are 4 fletch if it matters. My broadheads and field points are hitting the same spot, which is really great. However, I can see the arrow flying nock left. A shot through my crude paper tuning setup confirms this. I am concerned if I go messing with my rest or nock point to address this, I will lose the "tune" of the broadheads and field points impacting the same. This is my first experience with tuning broadheads so I thought I'd ask the opinion of others here. Thanks for any input on this.
  22. Bob Suttle at Bob’s Custom Guns or The Gun Shoppe at MacGregors. Both are close by. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Any interest in selling the 1.75-6x32? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
