  1. How steep is the grade? Does the sun hit it well? My gravel drive is around 450’ and I don’t salt it. I also do my best to keep the stone on the driveway when I plow. Some years are ok (this year) and some are terrible. In my case, the sun hits it good so it’s not typically covered with a good base for long. Taking care of a gravel driveway is an art form. One I do not enjoy, but will continue until we are done building a shop because the blacktop would get destroyed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Had one where we used to live that would hammer on a stop sign. That was loud! Big pileated woodpecker. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Full disclaimer I know very little about this. But...how about a better cargo system fir your snowmobile? I’m thinking something mounted off the back line ATV racks and maybe even the front. Just an idea. Could make them quick attach too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I had a Delta Point with the Delta (triangle) reticle. I loved it because you could be pretty precise with the tip of the triangle or fast with that size “dot”. I sold it a long while back and regret it. Had it on a GP100 for a time and it was fun. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I have wanted a “nice” air rifle for some time. This thread was what I needed to get one ordered. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. My Grandpa’s old barn gun is a Crescent Arms Peerless Model 12 gauge. I used to go peer into his gun cabinet through the glass door as a youngster admiring his beautiful old guns. This was one I never saw, and my grandmother handed it to long after his passing saying that it was always in the barn when they had their small farm. There is a bent over nail in place of a screw on the stock and the action doesn’t lock up real tight anymore. I did shoot it...once...in my younger, more daring years. I used the lightest load I could find. Upon pulling the trigger (with my eyes closed and it held down away from my face because I knew what I was doing was a bad idea but I was not one for self control) the action popped open. Now, it hangs here on the wall. It’s actually the reason I started the thread a while back about getting a new side by side. According to the interwebs, production date of this one is 1910. Your .410 is super cool! I’d have jumped on it as well. I’d be willing to bet after having a gunsmith check it out, you’d be able to enjoy it safely! What model is it? 7. Totally agree! Like I said, if it was a “big event” I’d be planning to run it only as needed. That said, with two little ones at home and often times my mom or mother in law watching them, it’s really nice not to worry about it for the much more common outages than last hours not days. I had an opportunity to put the setup in alongside some extensive electrical work so it made sense to do it financially then. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Two of the “standard sized” 420lb tanks. I also do not have mine set to “exercise” weekly. I run it for a few minutes once in a while on a warm winter day. With today’s synthetic oils I don’t think it’s necessary to “exercise” a lawn mower engine weekly. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I have a whole house system that runs on its own propane supply. I wanted diesel, but they are hard to come by for smaller kW needs. It’s real nice not worrying about it when you’re not home. The mistake most people make is buying a really oversized unit for their home. My whole house is on a 12kW and we can use our electric range, electric dryer, pool pump, etc. without skipping a beat. It is much more fuel efficient than the bigger units, which for me was the main focus. With the two tanks I have, it can run for about 6-7 days straight. That, of course is straight run time. In a real long term scenario, I’d ideally be shutting it down frequently and using it as needed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I had posted about this topic a while back. I’m now using a Old Timer Sharpfinger. In fact, I bought 2 in case one dulls while I’m in the thick of it. I can go from on the ground to ready for the vacuum sealer with it. I wish they were still American made, but they are not. You can find American made ones on eBay if so inclined. 11. Offer to post it for your buddy and put up some cameras (take the necessary precautions with this) to help send the message. It’s good that he lives there, as that “may” help. It took a couple years of being really, really strict to get people to generally stay off my ground. I’d be real surprised if it was patrolled as well as we’d all like to hope! 12. Just an update of sorts...I’ve been looking for a CZ Bobwhite in 20 gauge. Thought I found one in stock online. Added it to the cart and it says out of stock now. If anyone happens to stumble upon one, please let me know. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. VX-3i isn’t low end in my opinion. In fact it was Leupold’s flagship line for a long time. I can’t speak on Vortex, but I can tell you I’ve been very happy with all the Vari-X III, VX-III, VX3, and VX3i’s that I’ve had. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Haha! I was thinking the same thing to myself! I guess my screen name should really be “I Like Browning Deer Rifles” Also...I wrote “caliber” talking about shotguns. That’s worse than someone saying “.410 gauge.” Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I don’t have a brand in mind really. I have my grandfather’s old barn gun (side by side) that I don’t feel comfortable shooting. I used to have a Stoeger side by side 12 gauge, with 26” bbls and screw in chokes that I liked but I traded it off years ago. I don’t want to spend a ton as it will only be the occasional walking partner on strolls out back, etc. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. I’d like to purchase a side by side or over under shotgun. I’m interested in all calibers. Would prefer screw in chokes, but will entertain fixed. Don’t want to spend a ton but interested in seeing what’s out there. I do have some things to trade but open to cash sales as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Seems really cheap to have those outdated lights on a new truck! One of my complaints as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. 29-2’s aren’t getting any easier to find. I had a nickel one and boy she was a beaut! I loved shooting really mild handloads in it (8gr of Unique with a 240gr SW). I did not enjoy real .44 mag loads in it with the exposed back strap. They are beautifully crafted double action revolvers and are worth more everyday as long as they’re taken care of. Congrats on a really timeless wheel gun. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I think it’s already been said, and I’ll over simplify. Mount your scope as low as possible. This promotes good cheek weld to the stock and offers a better scenario for keeping your scope and barrel close to each other. Think of them as lines that at some point must meet for “zero.” Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Went with hickory. Glad I did. Not too smoky at all. 25lbs is a lot of summer sausage! Of course I ate all the “belly buttons” when I was slicing them up for the vacuum sealer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Looks awesome! What type of wood for the smoke? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I’m going to be making venison summer sausage this weekend using Backwoods LEM mix. What wood would you recommend for smoking it? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. 14 hours on this bone in pork butt on the smoker with apple and a little cherry. Came out awesome. Put it on at 2:45AM. New to this stuff but it sure is fun. Got chicken on now with pecan.
  24. Yeah, I watched the videos as well. The issue wasn’t getting them to actually mount, it was getting them to mount in a way that the sticks wouldn’t be digging into my legs or keeping the whole setup from folding flat. I ended up ditching that mounting block and strapping them onto the stand two on each side of the main support. They “stick out” a lot with a block of 4 of them too. I think the sticks with only 2 steps would be completely different as they’re so much shorter. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. I am a first time ford truck owner and my experience has not been great so far. I have a 2018 super crew with the 5.0 liter. I thought I did my homework on trucks, but I guess I didn’t do enough. I was dead set on the 5 liter because I historically keep my trucks a long time and turbos scared me off a bit. Turns out my 5 liter is using oil, even after the dealer having it for a month replacing the cylinder heads. I suspect now they’ll do the short block. They couldn’t get Ford to go for the long block before... I’m also not in love with the way the 10 speed transmission behaves. Long story long, I love the way the truck looks, and I bought it because I thought it wouldn’t rust being aluminum, but I can’t say I’m totally happy with it. The 2.7 seems to be fine, as well as the 3.5. Maybe in 2021 they’ve got the 5.0 sorted out. I know I’m not answering your question specifically, but I thought it was worthwhile to share.
