Dogwood Cuttings & Frost Seeding Berries
suburbanfarmer replied to LetEmGrow's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
I planted around 200 white/norway spruce trees around the perimeter and maybe 20 survived The type of soil makes a big difference along with sun exposure. My area was swampy and water wouldnt drain in weeks. The roots never took -

Congrats!! I plan/wish to join your ranks this weekend -
No experience here but I have been reading up and watching a lot of ML videos, apparently this late the fat plugs the up the bullet holes since muzzleloader sabots dont go fast enough. Deer can go 100+ yards without a drop of blood hitting the ground

Its all about timing, by now they have us patterned. My suggestion would be after the holiday weekend , go around 10-11am on 12/26/22 and scrape the snow off your food plot again. I bet you will have evening activity in that plot. The deer will be hungry after this weekend storm.

suburbanfarmer replied to fasteddie's topic in Deer Hunting
My comment was in respect to you doing everything possible and not making a bad shot on purpose. But it happens, if we didnt miss then we havent hunted long enough or we are lying. All have been there There are also plenty who dont even sight in their rifles and show up on opening day .. stories for a different thread. -

Deer population up or down in your area?
suburbanfarmer replied to gipe's topic in General Chit Chat
Its funny you say that, where I have access I cant find a deer ..doe or buck in 8t. Ofcourse I can only hunt weekends so that makes it difficult to find them -
I agree with you, during archery I do like the whole setup of drawing & shooting from the tree
