  1. Love my Colt Defender.. Mine is a 9mm, but can get it in .40 as well.. Has always been flawless for me
  2. We have all heard it was coming… decided to stop into the place where I usually get my fertilizer.. their prices have always been the best I can find in western NY.. I usually by a ton at a time in 50# bags… last year I paid about $460 a ton…. This year they are getting $875 a ton and warmed that prices will likely go higher… I feel bad for people that farm for a living.. fertilizer doubles, diesel doubles and I am sure seed will be more.. they don’t stand a chance!! just curious what impact this may have on others plans for food plots this year..
  3. The only thing I will add is that a lot of people say they are more concerned about security than fire... I used to think that way too, until we lost our entire home to fire 7 years ago.. you never think it will happen to you until it does... By biggest learning is that when it does happen, having something that can withstand the temp of a fire is important, but having something that is waterproof is almost more important (especially if it is in the basement).. Heat rises and although the majority of the structure of our house was gone, the basement never got super hot and the bigger issue was the 2 feet of water in the basement from the firemen putting out the fire(can't say enough about the volunteers that were there and do everything they can to make a very bad situation better) . We had rubber maid totes that were not affected by the heat but ended up being full of water. Sorry for the long winded message.. To net it out, you really need to plan for the unexpected as well!!
  4. That's interesting Never realized they stocked Atlantics in Oneida... do they assume they make it into the Oswego and then on to Lake O?
  5. I know someone that had a similar thing happen this year and they called their local fire department.. they came and pumped the water out in quick order.. Even a large sump pump is not made to deal with 12k gallons of water.
  6. They don't get more accurate than a 220... If you spend some time on the range with it, you will find that you can easily shoot out to 200 yards and beyond.. I will never forget when I first got mine I brought it to camp and my friend was very skeptical when I showed it to him and explained what it was capable of... I got her sighted in and I told him it was his turn.. 100 yards and he manages a 3 shot "clover leaf"... He was sold after that..
  7. I think you will find the Osceola (… and Rio Grande for that matter) to be easier to hunt than Eastern birds.. That said, you will certainly have a good time if you get on birds..
  8. I always wondered what impact cold weather had on EV's. Seems like another drawback.. Electric Cars in Cold Weather | EV Connect — EV Connect
  9. especially now when you are limited on how much you can deduct for tax purposes.. I pay over $21k between my home/farm and camp and can't deduct any of it..
  10. you may be shocked at what you can get for it
  11. There is a Runnings close to where I live and they claim they have not got any powder at all in "months" That said, their supply of ammo has improved significantly in the past month, so hoping that is a good sign..
  12. coming from Rochester area.... sbuff, thanks... Got lots of time to track some down, but always figure it can't hurt to check outside of my normal spots
  13. I am sure this is a longshot, but hear it goes... I am going to be in the Saratoga area this weekend and in need of some Blackhorn 209.. Any local places worth checking out?
  14. I have a flock hitting the bird feeders recently.. always amazes me how they survive when the snow gets deep.
  15. I own both and regularly use both... I don't think you can go wrong either way... I have been extremely impressed with Vortex Service. they fixed and issue that I caused, no questions asked (..and wow did they turn it around quickly!)
  16. Do you make your own sweet potatoe fries or buy them frozen? They look great!!
  17. They don't all go into heat in November and even if they do, if they are not bred they will go into heat again. a few years back I got a video on January 26th of a hot doe with 6 bucks chasing behind her... You would have to think that one of them caught up and if she was bred, she would have gave birth in mid July.. cool stuff!!
  18. I just changed jobs and went from driving 62 miles each way to 18 miles... Between gas (at these crazy prices) and tolls the savings is pretty significant...
  19. nothing better than air conditioned seats in the F250 on a 92 degree day in the summer!!
  20. Just an FYI.. If you are looking for any ammo, I have some Federal Fusion ammo available
  21. My camp is a few miles due south of this place.. Very good hunting in the area.. not a ton of 80 acres parcels within 45 minutes of Rochester, so I would guess it will sell fairly quickly at that price..
  22. I love my Colt Defender... more in the "compact 1911" category, but it is a great gun.
  23. I want to say it was about $5k and then A few hundred more for the hydraulic chute control (a must).. it is a meteor 68.. https://mkmartin.ca/products/pullType.php it moves a lot of snow in a short period of time and throws it a long way.. a was looking at a front mount blower and they we more than double the price with all the mounting hardware and tons of labor.. let me know if you want more details..
  24. This is my new snow removal rig…. I was a little skeptical of the front drive rear mount blower, but it works great!!
