  1. Those 8n’s are great tractors, that’s what I learned to drive on, pulling around a wagon at an apple orchard. I will say though, they can be really dangerous, too many people try to use them for things they weren’t made to do and end up rolling them over on top of themselves. Since they don’t have a ROPS, this can be fatal. Still, as long a you use them right and take care of them, they’ll last forever.
  2. I wouldn’t really want to do it at my house since I live in a neighborhood. I do have access to a property that I can probably swing in and shoot a cap that’s on my way to my hunting property. Thanks for the advice.
  3. I was taught to snap a percussion cap before loading for the first time to clear any moisture out of the barrel. I was thinking about this today in terms of hunting (it’s my first year hunting with a ML). I park at the landowners house, and I really don’t want to fire a cap in his driveway or in the field before I load for the morning hunt. I also don’t want to take a chance with a misfire due to wet powder. What is the general consensus on this practice?
  4. I’m out scouting and cutting a few trees for gun season. I’m liking what I’m seeing.
  5. Everyone has misses, no shame in it. No one will beat you up more than yourself. Overall, sounds like a fun and successful morning!
  6. I've never hunted it, but was seriously considering it until I got access to some private ground this year. At some point I wouldn't mind making a trip up there, it's only 20 minutes or so to the park from where I live. Hopefully the cooler weather will help with the amount of hikers. I would definitely recommend getting a good climbing tree stand and trying a couple of spots.
  7. That is quite the week! Your luck is bound to change at some point.
  8. I was going to try to get out this afternoon with my daughter to scout a couple of potential gun season stands, but I don’t want to pull her out into the rain. I’m a little disappointed, but we need the moisture.
  9. Words will never be able to express my gratitude. Thank you all for your service.
  10. I need to apologize for my conduct in this forum last night. The things I said towards Phantom were in my own word “nothing constructive”. I have tried to avoid this sub forum, but got carried away last night. This sub has proven time and time again to be toxic for me, and I need to do a better job staying above board and only to hunting topics.
  11. I am done with you Phantom troll, you bring nothing constructive to the table.
  12. Oh, so you did vote for Trump, and you are now acting as a troll on a hunting forum because you’re mad because your guy lost. You’re a sore loser with too much free time, got it! I won’t waste anymore of my time on you then. Good Day!
  13. Nope, I don’t. Still doesn’t change the fact that you’re a sore loser.
  14. That was about as as good of outcome as anyone could have hoped for.
